What is a brand?

“A brand is the unique way for your target audience to identify your product or service as opposed to that of a competitor”

Well, that’s a very grand way of putting it anyway!

Everyone knows some of the world’s biggest brands, Coca Cola, Amazon, Google, Apple, but even smaller brands add value and aid the ability for you to sell your product and services in a way that suits.

An exclusive luxury brand with a high-end target audience would very rarely opt for loud, garish marketing, and would rather focus on recommendations, bespoke messaging and individualised communications - a style of marketing which elite buyers have become accustomed to.

A local, family-friendly business may look to adopt a friendly tone of voice with imagery to reflect the core values of the business as being ‘salt of the Earth’ and ‘people who people buy from’

Your brand is more than just words and pictures though, it truly is about how you operate, your values, what you stand for and your ethics, and how you are perceived by customers, competitors, suppliers and prospective customers alike.

A brand can be you as a person as well. Jayne Kennedy Marketing is called so, and is my brand, as the entire offering is my 18+ year’s of experience in the marketing field, and I’m maximising the power of LinkedIn networking to utilise my name to promote my business to the host of potential clients I’m already connected with. And so far so good!

If any of this baffles you then I can offer help.
