Wow, wow, wow - two whole years!

The rush of fear that hit the pit of my stomach when I received the devastating news that my full time employer was making myself (and my entire department) redundant in the middle of a pandemic is something I'll never forget.

Worry, fear, anger and sadness struck - how on Earth would I pay the bills?

Then, a brainwave and a little voice inside saying 'you can do this' meant I decided to pursue my lifelong dream of working for myself as a freelancer.

I agreed with my husband to try it for 6 months and then this Covid would all have disappeared and if I couldn't make it work I'd look in Jan 21 for another permanent full time job.

BUT, I genuinely didn't look back!

I'm proud to say my reputation built up over 20 years proceeded me, and word of mouth, lots of hard work and THE best clients anyone could wish for, mean that I'm now officially celebrating 2 years in business - and recently announced I've now gone national - covering many clients across the UK (from my home office - don't you just love remote working).

I've learnt some crucial lessons long the way - how to spot a bad client -ensuring I'm paid upfront for new clients - how to invoice - managing books - cash flow - how the freelance community operate - how to adapt my skills to a multitude of sectors (too many to mention) - and more than anything to have self-belief!

It's given me the opportunity to be there through hard times and good for my family , as and when required, and ZERO office politics which I LOVE.

So the biggest of thank yous to all my clients past and present for believing in me and continuing to work with me - I love you.

And a huge, great big, massive, enormous Happy Birthday to me!!
